As we review our 2025 School Performance Scores, it is clear that our journey toward academic excellence is far from finished. We acknowledge the progress made, yet we also recognize that significant work remains ahead. This year marked the final year of the state’s previous accountability system, and we now move forward under a new, more rigorous framework that raises expectations for every learner and every school. From the first day of this school year, we set an ambitious goal to make substantial gains in teaching and learning. Our educators have embraced the challenge with commitment, and our learners continue to show resilience and determination. However, true improvement cannot happen in isolation. Our success depends on the shared efforts of families, community partners, and citizens across St. Helena Parish who believe in the potential of our young people. We cannot do this work alone. When schools and communities unite around the common mission of supporting our learners, powerful change occurs. We invite every member of our community to stand with us, to stay engaged, and to help create the conditions where academic success is possible for all. Together, we can ensure that the next chapter under this new accountability system reflects the strength, pride, and purpose of St. Helena Parish.

📢 Science in Action! 🔬✨ The learners in Mr. Woods’s class are hard at work preparing for the upcoming Science Fair! From brainstorming ideas to building and testing their projects, our scholars are fully engaged and excited about showcasing their creativity and scientific thinking. We can’t wait to see their amazing work! 🌟🧪💡

Ms. Alfred is honoring her First Block Superstars for their consistent effort, positive attitude, and academic excellence in Chemistry! 🌟🔬 These learners have been showing up, working hard, and setting the bar high. Today, they enjoyed a well-earned pizza celebration to recognize their dedication and success. 🍕👏 Keep shining, Hawks! 💛🦅

🦅 Lunch With the Principal! Some of our scholars had the special opportunity to enjoy lunch with the principal — an uninterrupted time to sit together, share ideas, and simply talk about ways we can continue making our school even better. The conversations were meaningful, the ideas were powerful, and the learners were amazing. 💛 And the food? Chick-fil-A made it even better! 😄 What an awesome group of kids… We are so proud of them and grateful for moments like these that help us grow stronger together.

📐✨ Mathematicians at Work! In Ms. Pothireddy’s class, learners are reasoning geometrically and numerically to determine the area of various triangles. 🔺 Our learners are building strong math foundations and showing what excellence looks like. Keep soaring, scholars! 🦅💛

🎓 Civics in Action! 🇺🇸 Mrs. Torrence-Wilson’s Civics class kicked off a Readiness activity using Kahoot — and the energy was high! 🔥 Our learners reviewed key concepts such as the amendments, freedom of rights, and freedom of expression while engaging in friendly competition and critical thinking. We love seeing our learners actively participate and grow in their understanding of citizenship and democracy. Keep soaring, scholars! 🦅✨

It may have been a half day, but our senior learner interns didn’t take a day off. They came ready to present their Career Navigation assignments, give meaningful peer feedback, and asking strong thoughtful questions. Proud of their commitment and growth! #FullyEngaged

Our 7th grade ELA learners were fully immersed in Restart by Gordon Korman today! 📖 After some quiet independent reading, they explored the author’s reasons for presenting different points of view in a lively discussion. Big thanks to Ms. Davis, a veteran teacher our learners adore, for guiding such thoughtful learning experiences. 💛🖤

Nothing brings our Hawks together like great food! 🌮💛🖤 Walking tacos were a hit today! Thank you to our amazing Food Services staff for all you do to keep our learners happy and energized!
