🌊🐠 Our Pre-K learners had a splash of fun exploring aquatic pets in the Makerspace! After learning all about fish and their watery homes, our little scientists completed a hands-on activity to make their very own fish swim. Pre-K Learners Explore Pets and Their Habitats! Last week, our Pre-K learners visited the Makerspace to dive into a fun and educational exploration of pets and their habitats! Together, we created a special habitat for aquatic pets, and the excitement was real as they placed their tiny new friends in their new home. Over the past week, the learners patiently waited and wondered... and today, the big moment arrived! They were reunited with their aquatic pets and to their amazement, the pets had grown so much! It was a joyful and wonder-filled moment that sparked conversations about growth, care, and the magic of nature. We’re thrilled to share a wonderful development from our Agriculture program at St. Helena College and Career Academy! Our dedicated agriculture learners have successfully built a new chicken coop as part of their hands-on learning experience.
This project not only enhances their understanding of animal husbandry and sustainable farming practices, but also contributes to our school’s commitment to experiential education. The coop will house chickens raised by the learners, and will serve as a living classroom for lessons in biology, responsibility, and entrepreneurship.

Learners were able to have a lunchtime chat with our local Army recruiter.

Seniors and Juniors met with Jostens to begin ordering supplies and class rings.

Please begin preparing for the upcoming Literacy Fair on Thursday, November 19th. This event will include learners from PK-12th grade. This exciting event will give learners the opportunity to showcase their literacy skills and creativity through a variety of formats. We encourage everyone to start reading and working on projects now so that learners are ready to shine on November 19th!

Today our learners brought science to life as we launched our very first Makerspace session of the school year! Building on their in-class exploration of the force of electricity, learners got hands-on in the lab to design and begin building their own electric race cars. The energy in the room was electric as they connected classroom theory with real-world application. But we're just getting started! Today, our K–12 learners participated in an exciting Virtual STEM Day filled with hands-on exploration and discovery! 🧪🔬 The spotlight was on the lungs 🫁, and learners engaged in 4 interactive activities that brought science to life in meaningful ways. From exploring how lungs function to creating models and observing experiments, every learner had the chance to think, create, and discover. A huge THANK YOU to our amazing teachers and staff for guiding and supporting our learners throughout the day—and to our learners for showing curiosity, energy, and excitement for STEM!
