📚✨ ELA in Action! ✨📚 Our learners in ELA are actively using peer talk to deepen their understanding and strengthen their academic skills. Together, they are working to identify the correct repetitions in their answers, make meaningful annotations, and apply strong test-taking strategies. We love seeing our learners collaborate, think critically, and support one another as they build the skills they need to succeed!

📐✨ Our Elite Learners Are Soaring in Geometry! ✨📐 Today, our elite learners were fully engaged in their geometry class—exploring shapes, angles, and real-world applications with focus and excitement! From hands-on problem-solving to collaborative conversations, they demonstrated critical thinking, teamwork, and academic excellence.

A few of our Pharmacy Club learners had an inspiring experience today at Xavier University of Louisiana’s College of Pharmacy!They toured the labs, connected with faculty, staff, and student ambassadors, and learned more about the exciting world of pharmacy.After completing their exit surveys, several learners shared that while some are still exploring their career paths, others left feeling even more inspired… expressing “more confidence that I can make it at Xavier and leave with a successful life” and excitement “about the idea of applying to Xavier.”The learners received multiple compliments regarding how well behaved they were.Thank you, XULA College of Pharmacy, for such a well-prepared and rewarding experience and a huge thank you to our learners for representing St. Helena with excellence!

It wasn't just a meeting... it was moment. The atmosphere was filled with joy, reflection, and purpose. Each young lady received a rose from Ms. Whitney as a symbol of how she is seen... BEAUTIFUL, STRONG, AND WORTHY! Just like the rose, each learner was created with both care and intention. The hope is that the rose reminds them of who they are and they begin to recognize that same beauty within themselves and in one another. This year the Classy Ladies will continue to cultivate confidence and sisterhood one meaningful moment at a time.

Today I visited the dual enrollment class. While there, they were engaged in a lesson on collecting Blood Specimens by Capillary (dermal) Puncture. I also decided to allow a learner to check my blood pressure. She followed proper procedure, ensured I was comfortable, and communicated each step clearly. It was a great opportunity for her to add to her hands-on experience.

As we strive to improve our test scores, we are targeting three areas: improving the quality of instruction, ensuring mastery of content, and using data to drive instruction. As a result, Ms. Kyna Magana from the Louisiana Department of Education was here today supporting our very own ELA teacher, Ms. Colligan.

Our Agriculture and Biology learners recently had the chance to visit Muse Farm 3, located right here in Greensburg, Louisiana. During the visit, they engaged with hands-on experiences in animal science and observed real-life farming operations in action.
