SHCCA Summer VIRTUAL ACADEMY

The St. Helena College and Career Summer Virtual Academy is a virtual program for students in grades 3-12. The Virtual Academy uses the Edgenuity online platform and curriculum that is aligned to the Common Core Standards. Edgenuity is one of the leading providers of online curriculum and eLearning solutions across the United States. With more than thirty years of experience, Edgenuity provides innovative, 21st century learning opportunities for today's tech-savvy learners.
Learners will be able to schedule courses in the core subjects of history and geography, math, language arts, and science, as well as a variety of electives. Subjects with LEAP Exams will only be available to learners who took the initial test.
Online Summer Courses:
will give your learner more time to learn the basics of the subject being taught at their own pace.
offer your learner a different approach to learning.
give learners a second chance to obtain class credit, preventing doubling up a core class during the school year.
allow your learner to focus on just that class.
will give your learner the chance to raise his/her grade point average.
Program Options:
Credit Recovery - designed for learners who failed a course. (Grades 3 – 12)
Audit Course - designed for learners who want to get a jump start for a challenging class that will be taken during the regular school year. (No credit is earned for this course)
Advanced Track - designed to offer new courses to learners who want to advance in their course work.
Registration Dates:
Monday, May 19, 2025 – Friday, May 30, 2025, at 4:00pm CST
Late Registration Dates:
Monday, June 2, 2025 – Thursday, June 5, 2025
Summer Session Timeframe:
Monday, June 2, 2025, to Friday, July 25, 2025, at 12:00pm CST.
Learners must have a permit slip from their school authorizing them to take the summer school courses.
The deadline to complete each course is Friday, July 25, 2025, at 12:00pm CST.
Failure to complete the entire course will result in a failing grade.
Learners will use the Edgenuity online platform.
Promotion is based on grades and completion rate earned in the program.
