Congratulations to Our Newly Certified Conflict Resolution Team!

AUGUST 15, 2025 - We are excited to celebrate a remarkable achievement in our school community—our first-ever learner-led Certified Conflict Resolution Team, made up of dedicated 8th–12th graders. Over the course of an intensive two-day training, these young leaders were equipped with practical skills to help mediate disagreements, promote understanding, and build a more respectful school environment.

This training was led by Dr. John Hatcher, a nationally recognized certified trainer in conflict resolution, alongside Jasmine Hatcher, a third-year law student from Southern University Law Center, who brought her legal insight and passion for youth leadership to the program. Their combined expertise provided our learners with proven techniques in communication, active listening, problem-solving, and collaboration.

Programs like this have a powerful impact on a school’s culture and climate. By empowering our learners to take an active role in resolving conflicts, we encourage peer accountability, reduce misunderstandings, and create a safer, more positive environment. Our mediators will help foster trust, respect, and unity among their classmates, making our school a place where differences can be addressed constructively and relationships can be preserved.
