Our learning doesn’t stop with our learners! Mrs. Holland engaged our teachers in collaborative professional learning focused on understanding the structure of the math lesson and the purpose of each component.

After unpacking the lesson structure, teachers took a deeper dive into planning for math fluency—strengthening their understanding of how intentional fluency practice supports mathematical thinking, accuracy, and efficiency.

When we strengthen teacher knowledge and instructional practice, we strengthen outcomes for learners! 💪🏾📈

Ms. Gordon’s learners put their measurement skills to work today! Using centimeter rulers and cubes, learners practiced measuring objects, comparing lengths, and demonstrating their understanding through hands-on learning.

Our 2026 LEAP results show growth in several areas for grades 3–8: ELA: 17% Mastery+ → 17% Mastery+ Math: 7% Mastery+ → 10% Mastery+ Science: 6% Mastery+ → 10% Mastery+ Social Studies: 5% Mastery+ → 14% Mastery+ We are proud of the progress, especially the growth we are seeing in Math, Science, and Social Studies. But we also know that we have more work to do. Our goal is not simply improvement. We need MORE learners performing at the Mastery and Advanced levels! And parents, this is where YOU come in. One of the most important things you can do to support your learner's success is to make sure they are at school, on time, and READY TO LEARN EVERY DAY! Every lesson matters. Every assignment matters. Every instructional minute matters. When learners miss school, they miss opportunities to build the knowledge and skills they need to succeed. Please help us by establishing strong morning routines, scheduling appointments outside of school hours whenever possible, talking with your learner about what they are learning, communicating with teachers, and reinforcing the importance of giving their best effort every day. Schools cannot do this work alone. When our educators, learners, parents, families, and community work together, we create the conditions for our children to succeed. We've got momentum. Now, let's build on it!

OUR LEARNERS ARE GROWING AND WE NEED YOUR PARTNERSHIP! We are excited about the positive academic growth our learners are making, particularly in literacy. The progress we have seen is the result of focused instruction, dedicated educators, hardworking learners, and families who continue to support learning at home. We are moving in the right direction, and now is the time to keep the momentum going! Louisiana’s literacy screener results will be used as part of determining the school performance score and letter grade for K-3 schools. That means the literacy growth of our youngest learners will have a direct impact on how our schools are evaluated. We need our parents and families to continue partnering with us. Read with your child every day. Ask questions about what they are reading. Practice letters, sounds, words, and vocabulary. Make sure your child is at school, on time, every day.
