Dear Parents and Guardians,
We want to keep our families informed regarding conditions in the parish following the tornado activity that impacted portions of the northern and southeastern areas this evening. Parish Public Works crews are currently on the ground and actively working to clear debris from affected roadways.
Parish officials have identified the roads that were impacted and have begun clearing operations. Based on the progress being made, there is an expectation that all parish roads will be cleared and ready for normal travel by tonight. Public Works will continue working diligently to ensure that routes are safe and accessible for school buses, staff, and families by tomorrow morning. At this time, St. Helena Parish schools will open at their regular time tomorrow.
The safety of our learners, staff, and community remains our highest priority. We appreciate the quick response from our St. Helena Parish OEP, and thank you for your continued patience and cooperation as recovery efforts continue.
