The special education teachers at SHCE, SHCM and SHCH are beginning to implement a direct instructional program, SRA, for students needing additional support in reading and math.
All special education instructional personnel have been trained in the SDE's new web-based IEP program. These teachers have been using this program to develop the IEPs and are excited about the ease of use with the program.
Special education teachers maintain contact with the administration through email, helping them to keep abreast of any news. |

The Pupil Appraisal Department would like to welcome everyone back to a new year. Teachers having concerns about student achievement should refer the student to the SBLC (School Building Level Committee). This team addresses concerns and attempts to reach solutions to best meet the needs of the students. |

We welcome the opportunity in assisting every student to reach his potential. To accomplish this, we provide guidance to the SBLC (School Building Level Committee) at each school. Students needing evaluation are assessed using current instruments and a report of the findings are provided to the school and the parent. Those found eligible for subsequent services will be contacted by a teacher at the appropriate school.
We especially encourage referrals from parents with children that may be experiencing developmental delays. These referrals are handled through our Child Search efforts and may include referrals made through local health professionals.
